Introducing the Lonsdale St Studio, your new creative space
It’s difficult to find a dedicated space in the city to shoot video, photography or podcast…until now.
Our sister company, Lonsdale St Studio is a 8.5x4M block out, acoustically treated space perfect for interviews, green screen shoots, webinars, photography and podcasting. It’s equipped with fully configurable lighting and there are professional-grade video and audio production kits for hire, so you can either BYO gear, or use our professional crew and equipment.
And the best thing, it is the only (as far as we know) studio space within such a great proximity to the Canberra CBD – you don’t have to travel far to use this all-in-one studio.
The options in the space are endless.
The studio allows for multiple configurations to suit your needs, whether you’re looking to film a piece-to-camera or a multi-person panel. It is fully sound-proofed with optional colour backgrounds, controllable lighting and autocue. What you can do with the space is great!
We at Newcast use the studio space all the time – we’ve recently been opting for studio shoots over location shoots for a lot of our recent content, purely because we can control every element that we shoot. There’s never an issue with sound, the lighting can be set exactly to how we want it to appear, and there’s less fussing around like there is on location, when you’re trying to get all the elements right in a space that isn’t made for video production.
We’ve recently had a lot of photographers hire it out to take advantage of the ceiling-to-floor backdrops. The studio space is perfect for headshots, group and product photography. Just bring your camera and your subjects in and click away!

Did we mention we have a RodeCaster Pro system? It’s a podcasting kit that comes with 4 microphones and headphones. You can quickly input voiceover or soundtracks into the system with one-touch recording to a microSD card. Simply record the podcast, record to your SD and take it with you!
Has your event been cancelled?
COVID-19 has cancelled a lot of events, but you can always un-cancel it… by hosting your event virtually via the studio. The studio features a dedicated NBN fibre-to-the-premises connection, offering ultra-fast broadcasting. The bandwidth guarantees lossless streaming and full High Definition record. Stream from a single camera, or multiple angles to platforms like Facebook and YouTube. Just bring in your talent, we can connect them to people across the world via Zoom, and capture it all to stream out to the masses!
